Central Illinois farm roads just the tikit

As I’ve reviewed my recent posts, I’ve noticed that I’ve written quite a bit about trails and the Dahon Bullhead. That shouldn’t be taken as a lack of interest in roads and my 16-inch-wheeled Bike Friday tikit, here shown on the road north to Princeville and, eventually, Speer, Illinois.

Once you get north of the city of Peoria, the roads, featuring basically the same configuration for decades, are definitely the friend of people traveling by bicycle. Indeed, the vast majority of my recreational riding is blacktop based.
