Bike job news: no gram counters at Surly

Quality Bicycle Products has updated its open positions page again. Let’s see: product manager, buyer, industrial designer—all in beautiful Bloomington, Minnesota. And a marketing manager position is still open. Let’s check those, hmm, Surly qualifications:

“You better like bikes. 5+ years of actual marketing experience and at least 3 years of working with a creative and passionate consumer brand. A track record of actual results in building a cool brand and getting market results. Zero or less years of building “awareness” or boring B2B crap. Smart is required, education is optional, but you better be pretty damned smart. Bike industry experience doesn’t hurt, but isn’t a shoe [in]. No Triatheletes or gram-counting roadie types.”

In other words, bring your Rubik’s Cube, but leave the lycra behind. You’ll find all the details here.

  1. Lar Davis says:

Alas – no chance at all for a troll that lives/works near the restrooms and wastes his meager talents laying out useless designs for parking of high school cretins or ugly facade designs to help visitors find the door to the tragic overbloated school. (two different schools) I do have shoes [in], tho.
